EDMONTON - As expected, 2013 draft picks Marco Roy and Jackson Houck will be back in the player pool for the upcoming NHL entry draft in Florida after the Edmonton Oilers chose not to sign either forward within the two-year time frame.
Roy returning to the draft stings because he was the 56th overall pick, which the Oilers acquired from the Anaheim Ducks in the Andrew Cogliano trade. They also took Roy, who reportedly had a good analytics following, instead of Tri-City Americans goalie Eric Comrie, who was selected 59th overall by the Winnipeg Jets, at a time when Edmonton needed goaltending depth in the organization.
