Edmonton Oilers President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, the club has agreed to terms with defenceman Justin Schultz on a one-year contract.
Schultz, 25, recorded 31 points (6G, 25A) and 12 penalty minutes in 81 games last season. He led all Oilers defencemen in points (31), goals (6) and assists (25), setting a new career high in assists. Schultz also ranked second on the team in blocked shots (114).
The 6’2”, 196-pound blueliner has spent his entire NHL career with the Oilers, accumulating 91 points (25G, 66A) and 36 penalty minutes in 203 career games.
