EDMONTON - Is it arrows down for Marco Roy?
The Edmonton Oilers have six days to decide whether to sign the 2013 second-round draft pick or toss the Quebec Remparts forward back into the June draft pool and write off the selection as a swing and a miss because he was taken 56th overall.
If the Oilers haven’t signed Roy to a contract by now after signing fourth-, sixth- and seventh-rounders Kyle Platzer, Ben Betker and Greg Chase, the 20-year-old will likely return to the draft next month.
Vancouver Giants winger Jackson Houck, a fourth-round selection in 2013 who had a brief audition with the Oklahoma City Barons in the American Hockey League this spring, may also go unsigned.
