With the news that the NHL and NHL Player’s Association agreement to open formal training camps on July 10, the two sides are moving one step closer to the fourth and final phase on their Return to Play plan; a 24-team playoff with the top four teams playing a round-robin to determine seeding and 16 teams participating in a best-of-five series to narrow the group down to 16 teams for the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
