Sunrise, Fla. — And now they sit and wait.
The NHL’s class of 2015 will take their seats in the stands at the Florida Panthers’ BB & T Center Friday night for the opening round of the entry draft, where they will await their selection.
The draft gets underway at 5 p.m. MST, with the opening round — a 30-team round that is expected to begin with the Edmonton Oilers’ selection of Connor McDavid, the Erie Otters centre who is the consensus choice for first overall. The event will continue Saturday with Rounds 2 through 7.
“It’s going to be a dream come true to hear my name called,” said McDavid.
