The Edmonton Oilers scored their first win of the season yesterday with a 2-1 performance against the New York Rangers. It was a must win for this franchise after the disastrous two losses to kick off the new season. This win should be considered a small band-aid to the big wound that has plagued this franchise for the past year or so.
The same issues that haunted this team are back in full force and have manifested glaringly. All the progress this team has made in the preseason seemed to have evaporated as soon as the puck dropped last Saturday afternoon against the New Jersey Devils.
