The Edmonton Oilers drafted Connor McDavid, traded for Cam Talbot and added Andrej Sekera. However, there is obviously more needed to make this Edmonton team the best that it can be. As the team approaches a new era, a new generation of Oilers hockey, one of the main components that must improve is the defense.
One of the men who comes to mind is Justin Schultz. Despite arbitration hearings, the Oilers gave him a last-chance contract (my made up term), which means that he will either improve on his one-year extension and get resigned for longer, or he will not be returning if he fails to improve.
