Today, the Edmonton Oilers kicked off their first bit of NHL hockey since last season with the start (sort of) of Rookie Camp. At today’s camp, the rookies underwent medical and fitness testing to ensure they are ready for the start of the NHL season.

Rookies and prospects had to participate in exercise and physical activity such as pull-ups, weight lifting and cycling as a part of the tests. After that, they discussed the rookie camp and the Oilers with the media, and then they were on their way to Okanagan, where they just recently landed minutes ago, for tomorrow’s first Young Stars tournament game against the Vancouver Canucks rookies.
