The Edmonton Oilers played their last ever Battle of Alberta at Rexall place on Saturday, but unfortunately, it did not end the way they hoped. After dropping a humiliating 5-0 decision to the Calgary Flames, the Oilers are likely to finish again at the bottom of the standings.
“Forget about the win and the loss, just the effort. That’s frickin’ embarrasing,” Oilers head coach Todd McLellan said.
He went on to discuss how the team was severely outplayed and talked about the overall crappy effort that they put in. That being said, it’s obvious that the offseason probably won’t go the way it has for the past few years, with a high draft pick, hopes for the upcoming season and a couple of signings.
