Ah, another day, another forward waived. This time, we are going to discuss if the Edmonton Oilers should take a stab at Zach Kassian.
The former Vancouver Canucks winger was admitted to rehabilitation after a substance abuse problem was revealed to the Montreal Canadiens organization. The problem came to rise on Oct. 4, when Kassian had been entangled in a car accident early that morning. The NHL and NHLPA recently announced that he is eligible to return to the NHL and continue care from the substance abuse and behavioral health program.
Through 198 career NHL games, Kassian has collected 66 points, and he had 16 points in 42 games with Vancouver last season before being dealt to Montreal.
