The Edmonton Oilers are starting to get a move-on when it comes to signing their pending restricted free agents, and began with signing right winger Iiro Pakarinen to a one-year extension, General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced Monday afternoon.

Pakarinen spent the majority of this past season with the Oilers, but occasionally fell to injury. The Finnish right winger put up 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in 63 games with Edmonton, as well as a minus-10.
The 24-year-old is a decent fourth-line winger, but is nowhere near the solution to Edmonton’s lack of players on the right side.
