Edmonton Oilers general manager Peter Chiarelli said at the trade deadline that he was looking to “test drive” a few players before seasons end. In saying so, he ended up snagging 30 year old journeyman Adam Cracknell off waivers from the Vancouver Canucks then plucked veteran reargaurd Adam Pardy from the Winnipeg Jets.
Pardy is a former 6th round pick of the Calgary Flames in 2004. In 6 games with the Oilers he has 2 points. Pardy is a hard-nosed veteran of 334 NHL games and plays with a physical edge, as expected for a 6-foot-4 guy that weighs 227 pounds.
