The Edmonton Oilers are still in pursuit of a number one defenseman to solve their blue line woes. However, though it was rumored that they could be a number one target for St. Louis Blues’ defender Kevin Shattenkirk, the Oilers could very well be out of the running. And sites like The Hockey Writers among others are saying we are out.

Rumors are swarming that the Blues are still looking for a trade with Shattenkirk and aren’t giving anything up soon. The teams currently eyeing the 27-year-old are the Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
