Hello everyone. This is my first blog post with Oil on Whyte, so here it goes. After the game against Vancouver, and going into Sunday’s game against Colorado, as well as the end of the season, a couple of things became evident for the Edmonton Oilers if they want to be more successful moving towards the end of the season. First, they have to be more active in the defensive zone and limit the opponent’s shots, and second, they have to win more battles at the blue lines.
On Friday, the Oilers did a good job breaking up the Canucks’ cycle game (which in the past dominated the Oilers), but Edmonton was passive in their defensive coverage keeping the Canucks to the outside.
