CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University redshirt junior Zack Mason (Toronto, Ontario, Canada-Blyth Academy Lawrence Park) was named the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week for the first time, March 18, after a strong showing at the GCU Invitational.
Mason collected his third career top-10 showing Tuesday, March 16, as he finished in third-place. The Toronto, Ontario native posted rounds of 71, 70, and 70 for his best-ever finish with a 54-hole total of 211 on the par 71, 7,207-yard GCU Golf Course.
Despite being just one shot off the lead after the opening round, Eastern was unable to keep pace with a late-charge by Wichita State and Southern Mississippi.
