CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — After securing Mid-American Conference Specialist of the Week honors yesterday, junior Kendall Valentin (Holmdel, N.J. - Holmdel) of the Eastern Michigan University women's gymnastics team was named the MAC Women's Scholar Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday, Feb. 1.
Valentin, who holds a 3.93 GPA in biology, continued her stellar season for the Eagles in Kalamazoo, playing a pivotal role in EMU's big victory over WMU, along with also helping break the EMU bars record. The Holmdel, N.J. native began the meet on bars, tying her career-best with another excellent 9.
