Underwhelming season comes to an end in loss to Akron

Back in October, the Eastern Michigan basketball team was predicted to win the Mid-American Conference West Division, but the team's season came to an end on Thursday in Cleveland when they fell to Akron, 79-62. The team has now listed as the fourth ranked team in the west division.

A double-double by forward James Thompson was not enough to give the Eagles the upset victory over the number one seeded Zips. Thompson scored 18 points while adding in 16 points and a pair of steals.

The team as a whole hit only 36.8 percent of their shots as well as 18.
