JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) - Four student-athletes from the Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team competed in the first day of the NCAA East Regional Championships hosted by University of North Florida Thursday, May 23. The day saw two Eagles qualify for Friday's quarterfinal heats on the track.
Senior Tyler Underwood (Clinton, Mich.-Clinton) and sophomore Owen Richardson (Basingstoke, England-The Costello School) continued their successes in the 400m, as both earned finished within the top-three runners of their respective heats, qualifying them for tomorrow's quarterfinal heats. Underwood finished second in his heat, running to a time of 46.
