Trey Laing Taken in the Canadian Football League Draft

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Eastern Michigan University football student-athlete Trey Laing (Tallahassee, Fla./Godby/Southern/Indiana) was taken in the 2025 Canadian Football League (CFL) Draft Tuesday, April 29. Laing, a defensive lineman, was drafted 63rd overall by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the seventh round.

Laing bounced around in college, moving from the University of South Florida to East Mississippi Community College to Southern University, to Indiana University, and finally Eastern Michigan. He played in 12 games last year with 22 tackles, 5.5 tackles-for-loss, and 2.5 sacks. He missed all of 2023 due to injury.
