PHILADELPHIA, Pa. /BALTIMORE, MD (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University tennis team was back in action for two matches against Temple, and Morgan State, today, Feb. 25.
Eastern (6-6) recovered from a morning setback to the Owls with an impressive 5-2 victory at Morgan State. The win elevated Eastern's overall record to 6-6 on the season.
Match One: EMU 2, Temple 5
The morning match, between EMU and Temple, saw the Green and White claim victory in just two matches, at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Senior Marie Mayerova (Kremlin, Czech Republic) defeated Temple's Oyku Boz in a hard-fought three-set match (3-6, 6-2, 6-3) before teammate, junior Vasavi Ganesan (Tamil Nadu, India-Algappa Marticulation School) was able to upend Rine Nozaki, 6-1, 7-5.
