CHARLESTON, Ill. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University tennis team was back on the courts last weekend, Friday-Saturday, Oct. 11-12, as part of the Eastern Illinois Panther Invite. A rain-filled weekend could not stop Eastern from registering its best performance of the 2019 fall campaign, as the team put up a season-high 12 wins (three by retirement).
On the singles side, Marie Mayerova (Krmelin, Czech Republic) picked up an opening round win in the A Singles Draw, defeating Missouri State's Taylor Shaw, 8-6. Mayerova dropped a tough semifinal match, 8-4, but came away with a third-place finish.
