YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Tate Omli, the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College, has been named an assistant football coach at Eastern Michigan University, Head Coach Chris Creighton announced today, March 30. Omli will serve as EMU's safeties coach and pass game coordinator.
"Coach Omli coached with us back in 2016 and 2017 while earning his master's degree," said Creighton. "He did an outstanding job and I knew we'd hire him back when the time was right. Coordinating defenses that played for and won a national championship is really impressive and his connections with the Kansas Junior Colleges will be instrumental as we continue to build this program.
