YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan swimming and diving team opened up its 2019 schedule with a dominant dual win over Wayne State University, Saturday, Jan. 12, at Jones Natatorium. Sweeping every event title, the Eagles saw 12 student-athletes earn top finishes against the Warriors.
With the win, the Eagles move to 5-0 in dual meets for just the fifth time in program history.
Out of the 12 student-athletes who took home event titles, three swimmers earned their career-best times against Wayne State. Sophomore Abby Rapien (Cincinnati, Ohio-Taylor) kicked off the meet with a win in the 1000 Freestyle, tapping in at 10:34.
