Strong Defensive Performance Propels Football to 37-19 Win at Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University football team used an aerial assault and three turnovers to upend the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, 37-19, Saturday, Sept. 17, in non-conference action under the lights at Jerry Richardson Stadium.

Both sides of the ball got the job done for the Eagles (2-1), as the offense sprung for 357 yards, including 285 through the air. Redshirt junior Todd Porter (O'Fallon, Ill.-O'Fallon (Western Kentucky-Garden City C.C.)) led the attack, finishing with his second consecutive 250+ passing yard day and all of EMU's 285 yards through the air on 24-31 passing and two touchdowns.
