CLEVELAND, Ohio. (EMUEagles.com) — Sophomore diver Sophia Tsafantakis (Washington, Mich.-Romeo) of the Eastern Michigan University women's swimming and diving team was named the Mid-American Conference Diver of the Week for her impressive showing against Albion College, Feb. 2, the league announced Thursday, Feb. 8. This is the first time that Tsafantakis has earned the weekly award, joining fellow sophomore Casey Gavigan (East Setauket, N.Y.-Ward Melville) this season, who earned the accolade Nov. 9.
Tsafantakis was a force to be reckoned with on the springboard against the Britons, turning in a career-best score of 322.
