AKRON, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University softball team opened Mid-American Conference play Friday, March 25, at Lee R. Jackson Softball Field versus the Zips of the University of Akron. The Eagles (9-16, 0-1 MAC) benefited from an early home run but were eventually outlasted, 4-3, by the Zips (15-13, 1-0), as errors plagued the Green and White.
Freshman Olivia Logan (Riverview, Mich.-Riverview) belted her first career home run in the loss, finishing 2-for-3 on the day with two RBIs while freshman Nicolle Miranda (Wilmington, Calif.-Port of Los Angeles) pitched a complete game in the circle.
