YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking, 3-2, loss in double overtime Sunday, Oct. 2, at home against Miami University in Mid-American Conference action. The Eagles (2-8-2, 0-4-0 MAC) fired off 15 more shots and earned 10 more corners than the RedHawks (5-4-1, 2-1-1 MAC) but came up short.
The Eagles midfield controlled a majority of the first half, fueling the Green and White to an 8-3 lead in shots. Unfortunately for EMU, the five-shot advantage did not result in any goals, leaving the match scoreless through 35 minutes of play and allowing Miami to take the lead in the 37th minute.
