CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University women's basketball junior forward Ce'Nara Skanes (Oklahoma City, Okla.-Putnam City West) has been named the Mid-American Conference's Female Scholar Athlete of the Week, the league office announced today, Jan. 4. The recognition is the first for the Oklahoma native.
Skanes was exceptional in EMU's 76-61 home thriller against Hillsdale College, Dec. 28. TheEMU all-time double-doubles leader paced the Eastern scoring effort with 23 points, while adding in seven rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Additionally, Skanes topped her previous career high two made triples set in two different contests with her four buckets from beyond the arc against the Chargers.
