YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Senior Luke Russo (Howell, Mich.-Howell) was mowing people down on Sunday, April 9 fanning nine Miami University hitters over seven innings of work to help power the Eastern Michigan University Eagles past the RedHawks in an 8-1 decision at Oestrike Stadium.
In addition to his nine strikeouts, Russo (4-1) tossed seven innings, giving up one run on two hits and walking one for Eastern Michigan (13-15). Junior Jagger Jefferies (Barnesville, Ohio.-Barnesville-Bryant & Stratton C.C.) also made an impact on the mound for the Eagles, throwing two shutout innings while allowing three hits, with one walk and four strikeouts.
