Miranda's Complete Game Shutout Highlights EMU's Split with Akron

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University softball team split a doubleheader with Mid-American Conference foe, the University of Akron, Saturday, April 1, at Varsity Field. The Eagles (13-16, 2-3 MAC) rode a complete game shutout to top the Zips (13-18, 2-3 MAC), 3-0, in game one, before dropping the second leg, 10-1.

Game #1: Eastern Michigan 3, Akron 0
Sophomore Nicolle Miranda (Wilmington, Calif.-Port of Los Angeles) turned in one of her most efficient outings of the season, going the distance and tossing just 86 pitches to lock up the complete game shutout.
