Men's Track & Field in First Place After Day One of MAC Indoor Championships

Day One Results

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University track & field program put on a strong showing on day one of the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships, Feb. 26, inside Central Michigan University's Indoor Athletic Complex. After the first day of competition, the men hold the first-place position with 58 points, while the women's team is currently in third with 25 points.

The most thrilling moment of the day for EMU came during the men's 5000m run. Redshirt sophomores Chris Devaney (New Plymouth, New Zealand-New Plymouth), Andy Payne (Worthington, Ohio-Thomas Worthington), and sophomore Toby Gualter (Tawa, New Zealand-Tawa College) were dominant from the start, pacing the pack of harriers and not letting anyone pass.
