(EMUEagles.com) - A pair of record-breaking swims propelled the Eastern Michigan University men's swimming and diving team to the top spot of the team standings after the first day of competition at the EMU Invitational Friday night, Dec. 1. The Eagles finished the night with 368 points, while Ball State University (247) and Wayne State University (194) round out the top-three.
Senior Logan Burton (Chesapeake, Va.-Hickory) broke the meet record in the 200 butterfly, clocking in with a season-best time of 1:46.45. Burton's first-place mark broke a record previously set in 1986 by Marty Moran of Michigan by more than a full second.
