BOSTON, Mass. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University's men's track and field program opened up its indoor season in historic fashion, with senior Baldvin Magnusson (Akureyri, Iceland-Hull University) setting the Icelandic indoor national record with his 14:01.29 5,000m run at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Open, hosted by Boston University, Dec. 3.
"It was exciting to kick off the indoor season in Boston," said Director/Head Coach Sue Parks. "Toby Gualter (Tawa, New Zealand-Tawa College) had an eight second personal best and although Vinny didn't have the race he hoped for, he still set an indoor national record for Iceland.
