Longtime SID Jim Streeter Honored By the Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association

DETROIT, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Former Eastern Michigan University Sports Information Director Jim Streeter was recently bestowed the highest individual membership honor by the Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association (DSBA), the organization announced Feb. 3. In addition to Streeter, Tom Ryan, Nick Vista, Richard Wilson, and Bill Wischman also received the esteemed distinction.

The DSBA was founded in the fall of 1948 by Ty Tyson and other sports announcers in metropolitan Detroit. Tyson and others were disenchanted with what they perceived as 'second class citizenship' in the press box at then-Briggs Stadium. Sports broadcasters, sports writers, sports photographers, P.
