Kent State’s strong offensive day results in an EMU loss

The Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team lost its third straight conference game to the Golden Flashes of Kent State, Saturday afternoon, at the Convocation Center.

“I’m really disappointed in our effort and execution today,” said coach Fred Castro. “We had a game plan and from the start we didn’t execute it or follow it.”

Kent States’ Larissa Lurken led the game with a game-high 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. “No secret that Lurken is a great player and a great scorer and she had 13 points in the first quarter,” said Castro. “We had done a lot of work to do a better job with that, but we just didn’t execute.
