YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University Interim Director of Athletics Christian Spears announced today, May 12, he will depart the University after accepting the position of deputy athletic director for external affairs at the University of Pittsburgh. Spears has served as EMU's interim AD since March 27 and will continue to do so until a new interim is named.
"The experiences we have had over the last three years at EMU have been truly special," Spears added. "We lived history on many occasions from going to the Bahamas Bowl, to winning multiple conference championships, from getting approval on the Championship Building Plan, to watching our students graduate with record-breaking academic success.
