Holman Captures Women's National Golf Invite Title

MARICOPA, Ariz. (EMUEagles.com) – Angelica Holman went wire-to-wire to win the individual title at the Women's National Golf Invitational, May 9-11, at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course in Maricopa, Ariz., to lead the Eastern Michigan University team to a runner-up finish in the 10-team event. Holman, the leader after each of the three rounds, helped the team to second place, just four strokes behind champion Santa Clara University.

The Eagles finished the tournament at 26-over 890 (291-307-292) with the No. 94 Broncos taking first at 22-over 886 (293-295-298). No. 71 University of North Texas was third at 33-over 890 (296-307-294), University of North Carolina Greensboro was fourth at 36-over 900 (300-310-290), and Oral Roberts University was fifth at 38-over 902 (294-307-295).
