Frederick's 67th-Minute Tally Lifts EMU Over UIC

CHICAGO (EMUEagles.com) – A 67th minute strike off the foot of freshman Alia Frederick (Linden, Mich.-Linden) capped a come-from-behind victory for the Eastern Michigan University soccer team Sunday afternoon, Aug. 20, at Flames Field in Chicago. The Eagles (1-0-1) knocked off the University of Illinois-Chicago, 2-1, as Frederick and sophomore Sabrina McNeill (Whitby, Ontario-Henry Street) tallied goals, while junior goalkeeper Kaylin Williams (Kansas City, Mo.-Winnetonka) registered a season-high seven saves.

The Eagles pounded out 22 shots, nine of which were on target, while holding the Flames (0-2-0) to just 16 shots, with just eight on goal.
