EMU Volleyball Sweeps Norfolk State at Colonial Classic

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team kicked off its weekend with a convincing 3-0 sweep of Norfolk State University, Friday, Sept. 7, at the William and Mary Colonial Classic.

The Eagles cruised from the get-go, turning aside the Spartans 25-9, 25-5, 25-11 for their most lopsided win of the season. Eastern hit a modern-era record .430, while Norfolk State turned in a -.080 mark. EMU dominated in kills, 43 to 12, digs, 51 to 32, assists, 40 to 11, and service aces, seven to one.

Highlighting the performance for the Green and White was senior Jordan Smith (Solon, Iowa-Solon), who tied a season-high with 17 kills, while hitting a career-best .
