UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University track & field program saw senior Skyler Lester (Marietta, Ga.-Marietta) win the heptathlon at Saginaw Valley State University's Jet's Pizza Invitational today, Jan. 29, inside the SVSU Fieldhouse.
Lester produced three first-place finishes in the competition, including a win in the 60m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 8.43. Additionally, the senior tied his personal-best in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.70m. The Marietta, Ga. native recorded top-three placements in every event to accumulate 5,118 points. This marked the fourth time Lester has surpassed the 5,000-point mark in the heptathlon in his career.
