YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team defeated Western Michigan University in straight sets (25-18, 25-23, 25-14) Friday, Nov. 3, inside the Convocation Center. The Eagles (12-17, 4-9 MAC) kept their Mid-American ConferenceTournament hopes alive by sweeping the Broncos (14-10, 7-6 MAC) for the first time since Sept. 24, 2005.
The Eagles were the superior team offensively, attacking at a .259 percentage compared to the Broncos' .091 clip. EMU out-killed Western Michigan, 41-37 and overmatched the Broncos in assists, 40-34. On the defensive end, the Eagles produced nine blocks and out-dug WMU by a 61-58 count.
