EAST LANSING, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) The Eastern Michigan University baseball team fell 11-10 in a 10-inning matchup to the Michigan State University Spartans Wednesday.
Senior Nick Chittum (Grosse Ile, Mich.-Grosse Ile) (3-5) came out of the bullpen for Eastern Michigan (22-24) and took the loss. Senior Zach Gillig (Valley Center, Kan.-Valley Center-Friends University-Pratt C.C.) was a bright spot for the Eagles, coming out of the bullpen as well and throwing 1.1 shutout innings, allowing one hit, with one walk and three strikeouts.
Senior Taylor Hopkins (Mason, Ohio-Archbishop Moeller) led the way offensively for the Eagles, going 2-for-5 in the ballgame with a double, a home run and four RBI.
