Eastern Hangs Tough with No. 21 Purdue, Falls 3-1

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team gave No. 21-ranked Purdue University a run for its money Saturday, Sept. 21, falling 3-1 to the Boilermakers at Halloway Gymnasium.

Redshirt senior Cassie Haut (Monroe, Mich.-St. Mary Central Catholic) led the Eagles with an outstanding 19-kill performance, setting a new high for the 2019 season. The middle blocker hit .351 in the match and added six total blocks (one solo, five assist). Junior Franki Strefling (Niles, Mich.-Buchanan) was the only other member of the Green and White to register double-digit kills, finishing the match with 10 while hitting .
