ROCK HILL, S.C. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University lacrosse team fought valiantly, but ultimately came up just short in its first-ever road game, falling 16-11 to Winthrop University today, March 3, in Rock Hill, S.C.

A quartet of Eagles scored multiple goals in the game as Abby Alderman (Lusby, Md.-Patuxent), Sydney Lawrence (Wylie, Texas-Plano Senior-Oregon), Tracy Grollman (Annapolis, Md.-Annapolis Area Christian School), and Mackenzie Blackwell (North Beach, Md.-Northern) each found the net twice. All told, seven different Eagles combined to score a season-best 11 goals for Eastern (0-2, 0-0 MAC), while the EMU defense held Winthrop (2-2, 0-0 Big South) to 16 goals, the best defensive effort for the Eagles this season.
