DEKALB, Ill. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University baseball team got back on track with a big 9-2 victory in the series opener over Northern Illinois University, Friday afternoon, May 12, at McKinzie Field. The Eagles (19-31, 10-9 MAC) used a balance of clutch hitting and shut down pitching to get its MAC record back above .500 and match its conference win total from last season.
Eastern continued its offensive momentum from the midweek game, clubbing 11 hits to score nine runs. Leading the way was sophomore Drake Lubin (West Bloomfield, Mich.-Walled Lake Northern), who had a career-high three hits to go along with two RBIs.
