EAST LANSING, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2019 season, 2-0, to Michigan State University Aug. 29 at DeMartin Stadium. The game was called with just under 12 minutes remaining due to lightning.
In an evenly-matched first half, the Eagles and Spartans split possession rather evenly. Eastern saw an offensive burst 16 minutes in, firing off three shots on target in a five-minute span that were saved by the keeper for the Spartans.
Despite being edged nine-to-four in shots by the Spartans, Eastern Michigan and Michigan State ended the first half scoreless.
