TAMPA, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University baseball team avoided the sweep by locking down a 3-2 win over the University of South Florida Sunday afternoon, Feb. 28 at the USF Baseball Complex. The win broke a four-game skid for the Eagles (4-5), and ended their Florida swing on a high note.
Pitching led the way for Eastern in the game, as three hurlers went the distance, holding the Bulls (4-3) to just five hits. Senior Augie Gallardo (Hemet, Calif.-Hemet (Mt. San Jacinto College)) made his second start of the season, getting a no-decision after pitching 4.
