Eagles Blanked by Zips in Series Finale

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University softball team dropped its series finale, 9-0, to the University of Akron, Sunday, April 2, at Varsity Field. With the loss, the Eagles fell to 13-17 on the season and 2-4 in Mid-American Conference play and were no-hit for the first time since 2014.

Eastern used three hurlers in the game as junior Trisha Trujillo (Whittier, Calif.-California), sophomore Nicolle Miranda (Wilmington, Calif.-Port of Los Angeles), and senior Abbie Minsker (Howell, Mich.-Hartland) entered the circle. Trujillo got the start and was the pitcher of record, while Miranda and Minsker combined to close out the game in relief.
