YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University gymnastics student-athlete Cortney Bezold (Maineville, Ohio-Bishop Fenwick) was named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), Thursday, May 17. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
A first-time winner of the award, Bezold became just the second EMU gymnast to earn the accolade, joining former Eagle Kendal Valentin, who did so in 2018. Additionally, Bezold is the only gymnast in the Mid-American Conference to be tabbed with the honor, and one of only two league members to be honored in CoSIDA's District 5, joining Bowling Green State University's Talisa Lemke (Swimming).
