CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University men's track & field student-athlete Lachlan Cornelius was named Mid-American Conference (MAC) Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday, April 29.
Cornelius (Brisbane, Australia/Anglican Church Grammar School) placed first in 800m invitational in a MAC-best and personal standard 1:48.38 at the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet, hosted by Grand Valley State University, April 26. His time is the fastest by an Eastern student-athlete since Eastern Michigan legend and former United States Olympian (1996 – Atlanta) Paul McMullen ran the distance in 1:46.
